Suddenly, the evenings have felt chilly and rainy, making me way too excited for my favorite season. Fall always holds a special place in my heart, and I am so ready for lighting candles, wearing my favorite brown boots and wool socks, flannels, the … Continue reading
Autumn is approaching (slowly, but surely!) and delicious oatmeal cream pies seems like the perfect dessert to transition from summer to fall. Last winter I saw this recipe on Pinterest, and decided it would be a great gift for my boyfriend, who … Continue reading
This week was SO busy and went by incredibly fast, though yesterday I ended the week with a fever, and the flu. (missing my first musical rehearsal! so frustrating!) I started my senior year at the school I have been … Continue reading
Last week I made my first bread! I am so proud with how it turned out, and it was so delicious, I’m still craving it. Even though I don’t live in Ireland (I wish!) , and its nowhere near St. Patrick’s day, I … Continue reading
Today I’m wanting to start to recap my week by sharing and focusing on the simple and little things that made my week wonderful! Because in less than a week, my schedule will implode and I know I will be extremely anxious and overwhelemed at times, this will help me to stay postive during overly packed and stressful weeks!
I’m inspired by Rosie from Cider with Rosie, and Emily from Dear You, Love Em to do this. Two incredible bloggers who are always so positive and seem to be so sweet. I would love to have a cup of tea someday with both of them!
Also, Ann Voskamp, author of One Thousand Gifts, (which I am almost done with!) talks about giving thanks for all things, so, 10 things I am thankful for this past week:
This week was really my last full week of summer, and it was relaxing and overall really lovely!
1. Our old dog, now my sisters dog, is staying with us for a couple weeks before he moves to New York. It has been so fun having him around and keeping me company. His name is Jack, after C.S. Lewis! (my mom is a huge C.S. Lews ethusiast!). He is a sweet goldendoodle (the best breed), and still acts like a puppy, even though he’s almost 8!
2. Time at night to finish Downton Abbey, but it was a very sweet ending. Now all I want to do is to move to England! (Tony is the best replacement for Matthew, am I right?)
3.Relaxing mornings of reflection and reading outside on my back porch
4.The Great British Bake Off episodes on Youtube (I wish it would show in America 😦 )
5. HARD hikes, straight up a mountain, but the waterfall and the view at the top was so worth it.
6. 2 mile runs
7. Homemade Irish soda bread (recipe to come!)
8. Babysitting jobs to the cutest kids
9.Those lemon, coconut bars (seriously though! Soo delicious!)
10.Night out to dinner with some of my sweet friends! and ended the night with Uptown Girls, which I had never seen! (these girls kept talking about wanting to be on the blog, so they are officially on the blog! 🙂 )
This is probably my last summer-y post for the year! (I can’t believe it!) Nothing like lemon and coconut bars to finish off this summer. I made these right before my sister and brother-in-law went away to New York. … Continue reading
As I mentioned in my last post, I went shopping the other day and picked up a whole lot of basics for these coming fall months. So excited about all of my new versatile (and not so versatile) shirts, skirt, … Continue reading
July has come to a close, which means August is in full swing! Though around this time of year, I am typically ever so ready to go back into school, this year seems a bit different. This summer was overall … Continue reading
